Appointments
How are appointments offered?
Appointments may be completed in person, by telephone, or through the AVA Connect patient portal, depending on the concern and availability.
Do you accept walk-ins?
Yes. Walk-ins are accepted when availability allows. Wait times may vary.
Do you accept out-of-province health coverage?
We may accept certain out-of-province health care coverage. Please contact the clinic for details before booking.
New Patients
How do I become a patient at the clinic?
A meet-and-greet appointment is required before being accepted into a physician’s panel.
Acceptance depends on physician availability, clinic capacity, and clinical suitability.
Learners & Physicians in Training
Will students or physicians in training be involved in my care?
MedHealth Clinic supports medical education. You may be seen by medical students, residents, or physicians in training under appropriate supervision.
Please treat all learners, staff, and physicians respectfully.
If you prefer not to have a learner involved in your care, please inform front staff before your appointment.
Missed or Late Appointments
What happens if I am late?
If you are more than 10 minutes late, your appointment may be considered missed, as the physician may not have enough time to complete the visit safely before the next patient.
How much notice is required to cancel?
At least 24 hours’ notice is required for appointment cancellations or changes.
Are there missed appointment fees?
Missed appointment fees may apply.
For specialist appointments, a missed appointment fee of $100 may apply.
Urgent or Emergency Concerns
What should I do in an emergency?
For medical emergencies, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
For urgent health advice, call Health Link at 811.
The clinic website, email, and AVA Connect portal should not be used for emergencies.
Respectful Conduct Policy
What is the clinic’s conduct policy?
MedHealth Clinic is committed to a safe and respectful environment for patients, staff, physicians, and learners.
Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or inappropriate behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in dismissal from the clinic, where appropriate and in accordance with professional obligations.
Medical Records
Is there a fee to transfer records to another clinic?
Yes. A $30 fee applies for transferring medical records to another clinic.
Please contact the clinic for details about the record transfer process.
Test Results
How should I follow up on test results?
We recommend that patients book a follow-up appointment after completing blood work, imaging, or other investigations to review their results.
The clinic may also call or contact patients when follow-up is required.
If symptoms are ongoing or worsening, please book an appointment.
